Account Executive

San Francisco, CA

Full Time

NextRequest is being used by local and state governments throughout the U.S. including places like San Diego, the Port of Seattle, and Miami. Our mission: be the leading records request platform in the U.S. and beyond. We can help divert up to a third of the public's records requests to information online. This is what the Mayor of San Diego had to say about us, “This new public records portal created by NextRequest will give ordinary people access to wide swathes of information that would have been more difficult to acquire without this technology. This is a major step forward in our work to make city government more efficient and effective,”

You should have experience understanding a 45–90 day sales process that may include  multiple stakeholders and have a consistent track record of being over-quota. You will interact with the Customer Success team helping plan for success before and after a deal is signed as well as the Product team helping to identify the needs of potential customers.

You’d be a good fit if you:

  • You have 1-3 years experience in SaaS sales (B2B/B2G) and a track record of exceeding quotas
  • Care about local government and/or civic causes
  • Are low-ego, empathetic, adaptable, organized, curious, ambitious
  • Have excellent listening skills and can explain complex concepts in simple language
  • Value process, metrics, and efficiency as a way to team scalability and success
  • Care that every NextRequest client is happy and successful long term

What you will do:

  • Pick up the phone every day and talk to a dozen different local governments — listen and understand the challenges government staff face responding to records requests
  • Convince local governments to approach their problems in new ways
  • Lead deals post qualification until close
  • Attend conferences to share knowledge and meet government leaders
  • Work closely with the Customer Success team to deliver an exceptional experience for clients

NextRequest is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to a working environment that reflects our community. We especially encourage applicants who are underrepresented in the technology industry, including women, people of color, and LGBTQIA candidates.

Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance (FCO), we will consider employment for qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
